Our small caliber aluminum carriers have been redesigned for smoother feeding and better ejection. The rear of the cartridge channel has been beveled at an angle that allows the round to feed forward more smoothly. The top ejection area toward the rear of the carrier now has a concave shape and the top of the carrier is slightly taller to aid in the smooth ejection of empty cases. We have now modified the top of the small caliber carrier to make it easy to reload over the top.
These light weight carriers are about 1/4 the weight of the original brass carriers. Since this part moves up and down with each cycle of the lever, the lighter weight of this carrier translates into a much lighter feeling action.
Our light weight aluminum carriers are designed using the latest solid model engineering software. This software allows us to build a virtual model of the part that is being designed on the monitor screen, assemble it to other parts, and move it through it's range of motion to test it's function before any metal is cut. It's pretty amazing stuff.
After the design has been proven out, programming software is used to plot the paths of the various cutting tools that will produce the parts as designed.
Once the program is written, it is downloaded into the CNC machine tool, the cutting tools are loaded into the magazine, and the raw metal is held in position in the vices. Once that's all done, we're ready to produce exact reproductions of the computer model that we started off with.
Each part is inspected as it comes off the machine. From design, to manufacture, all work is done in house, on our machines by our people. It's this total control of the process, from design to packaging, that makes our carriers the most consistently high quality aluminum carriers that money can buy. You can count on it!
