The Original kit that started it all! The Pioneer Gun Works short stroke kit. Now known as the “Standard Kit”, this is the kit that we have been manufacturing since 2004. Redesigned for a longer lasting performance, the standard short kit will shorten the lever throw of your Uberti rifle by 1.5”-1.75”. This performance kit is made from aircraft quality steel. With fully illustrated instructions that illuminates the necessity to require a gunsmith for installation.

*No longer a need to buy a new finger lever or permanently modify your bolt. The PGW Standard Kit requires a modest amount of installation in order to insure a proper fit to your rifle.

*Allowing for a night-and-day feel in contrast to the stock lever throw, the Standard Kit has been a favorite of many shooters just getting into the sport of cowboy action shooting. Designed to be every bit as compatible as your stock Uberti parts, you will notice the familiar design structure that will will work synergistically with your stock parts.

*NOTE* If you intend to use the Standard or the Super short stroke kits with your stock brass carrier, a minor adjustment to the brass carrier will be necessary. This modification will NOT effect the usage of the brass carrier in the event that you may wish to re-install the stock parts. The very best short stroke kit available, and what helped put Pioneer Gun Works on the map! The PGW Super Short Stroke Kit is unlike any other kit on the market. Made from the highest grade material, this three piece kit allows you to achieve the shortest lever throw allowed by SASS.

*Our Super Short Stroke Kit offers the shortest lever throw allowed by current SASS regulations. Without the need to purchase a new finger lever or to perform any permanent adjustment to the bolt, our kit comes with fully illustrated instructions allowing the average shooter the ability to install this kit WITHOUT the need to send your rifle to a gunsmith.

*Redesigned to be stronger and smoother, we have added steel to the outside portion of the links and have CLOSED the channel. This eliminated the “mushrooming” that can happen to the old model kits at the end of the inside channels from the lever pin.

*A unique re-design of the links have made the super kit smoother than it’s original design.. This innovative design is what allows the lever throw to be smooth while remaining functional.

*Made to stand the test of time, our super kit is still manufactured from aircraft steel and can be fitted to most 1866, 1873 and 1860 Henry model “Uberti” rifles.

(Newer models only! If your Uberti rifle has a “W” or “H” prefix to the serial number then you're assured that your rifle will be compatible with the short stroke kits.)

Pioneer Gun Works “Action Springs”

The Pioneer Gun works action springs are made specifically to give you the lightest spring tension available for the lever and lifter arms action, while still reliably allowing the carrier movement and lever action to stay true. Machined from high grade steel, they are tapped to work flawlessly with your stock Uberti lifter and lever screws. Our hardened “action spring screws” are a great addition with this kit, as the stock Uberti screws have a tendency to be soft which can cause gouging.

The specially designed “spring arms”, rock up and down while riding the cam surfaces of the lifer arm and lever. We have utilized specially designed music wire to suffice for the spring tension in this kit, giving our Action Springs one of the most unique and simple designs available in a performance part.

*Action Spring kit will come with 4 tension spring rods.

*NOTE* Action spring screws do NOT come with the action spring kit and will have to be purchased separately!

The Pioneer Gun Works Coil Mainspring Assembly Kit

The only performance part that we have patented with the US Patent office! The PGW coil mainspring kit displays the most unique and innovative design available while offering the lightest and smoothest feel to your overall hammer spring tension. Fully replacing the curved leaf spring, the kit comes with a roller bearing strut-arm that rides along the inside radius of the hammer rear. Collapsing one of two set tension coil springs, once the the trigger is engaged the tension is released and the hammer it PUSHED forward! This entire action and design adds a smooth tension increase, while aiding in minimal energy loss which gives a more positive rate of primer ignition.

*You do NOT need to be a gunsmith to install this kit.

*Two springs (one red, one blue) come with the kit. The red spring is the lightest spring and the one best to be installed for the lightest tension regardless of the caliber! The blue spring is 10% heavier, for those that wish to increase lock-time or for personal preference.

*Spacer washers are also added with the kit that allow you to manually add tension to the springs, and re-establish spring tension if you decide to clip off a coil and felt it to be too light.

Coil Mainspring Conversion Kit

PGW Hardened, extra long Firing pin & light weight spring.

These firing pins are made from armory grade steel, and are made .015" longer than stock firing pins. Guaranteed not to break. They come with a light weight spring.

PGW light weight firing pin extensions.

These firing pin extensions are made from quality hollowed out steel, and meant to replace your stock Uberti extensions. The PGW light weight is 40% lighter than the stock extensions!

*To insure a proper fit, make sure that you get the correct type for your rifle.

*NEW MODEL firing pin extensions are for the rifle bolts that have a flat “wedge” or stopper that holds the extension in place on the bolt.

*OLD MODEL extensions are for the rifle bolts that utilize a “cross pin” that pushes through the top of the rear portion of the bolt on it’s side, to hold the extension in place.

Be sure to check and see which type you have in your gun to make sure you order the correct part!

PGW MODEL 73 LEVER SAFETY SPRING

These “mouse-trap” springs replace the heavy stock lever safety springs that come in Uberti model 73’s. They will allow the safety to work as designed, without having to add extra pressure to the lever to engage the trigger.

MARBLES REAR SIGHTS LONG & Short SHANK

These rear rifle sights are manufactured by Marbles and are the staple rear sight for the average cowboy shooter! They are an excellent replacement for the stock Uberti rear sites. Meant to fit fit a 3/8” dovetail slot. *NOTE These do not come with “set screws”, and will require material removal for a proper install.

MARBLES BRASS BEAD FRONT SIGHT

Made by Marble Arms, these front sights have a .093” brass bead, and will fit a common 3/8” dovetail slot.

The .410" standard height sights work well with the Uberti rear semi buckhorn sights.

The Tall Marbles Brass Bead sight is .538".

Pioneer Gun Works “Speed Sights”

Speed-Sight, Front Rifle Sight - Standard Height
As the name implies, this sight will allow you to speed up your sight acquisition by drawing your eyes and your attention to the front sight and allowing for a quicker site-picture acquisition. This sight has a spherical 1/8" diameter brass bead surrounded by a black outline that will show up on any color target. Designed with a more stout design and promised to never crack or break at the neck! This sight is .410" tall, which works well with Uberti and Marbles rear sights.

New from The Pioneer Gun Works line is our “Quick-Cap”, magazine tube end cap for the 1866 and 1873 Uberti rifles.

Our design for the magazine tube plug increases the leverage removal point making the cap easier to unscrew and replace.

The design eliminates destroyed stock end cap slots by using a 3/16 Allen wrench broach.

Tested and proven to fit all 1866/1873 Uberti rifles.
